Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a “writer” to help your website get discovered online. You just have to make it clear to your customers and to search engines what you do – and share information with them that will add value to their time on your website.
Search engines reward fresh content. Think about it – would viewers rather see websites that were last updated yesterday or 3 years ago?
Search engines like Google, Yahoo!, and Bing, need to understand what your business does before it matches your website to people. If you clearly write about what products and services you offer, these search engines will help you get discovered by the right people at the right time.
If you’ve got offers, discounts, or are running promos – market these regularly! People are always searching for things on sale.
Would you rather read “Backpacks available here.”, or “It’s about that time of year again – got to head back to school. Explore our range of water-proof backpacks. They’re padded enough for laptops, and comfortable on the shoulders.” So, write as though you are the reader.
Write catchy captions, to even catchier images. Share pictures of your office, team, products, whatever you think might add to your customer’s experience on your website.
